Rick Case Bikes for Kids

Wednesday, January 13, 2010

Since 1982, the Rick Case Bikes for Kids program has been donating bikes in good condition to needy children every year during the holidays, and 2009 was no exception.

Rick Case of Atlanta, Gwinnett Audi, Mazda Motors of North America, and Tammi Hall of JP Morgan Chase Auto Loan Division all contributed to this annual project's success. In all, we were able to deliver over 60 bikes to children from the A. Worley Brown Boys and Girls clubs of Norcross and were also able to provide several bikes to needy families connected with the Big Brothers and Sisters of Atlanta.

Very special thanks to Troup 228 of Flowery Branch, Georgia, for helping distribute several bikes to families in the North Georgia area, and a very special thanks to all of those who donated bikes for this cause. Because of you, many children in need had their dreams come true this past holiday season and your generosity helped make that possible.

Thanks again to everyone involved in this program, and we are definitely looking forward to doing more of the same in 2010!

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Review

Wednesday, September 30, 2009

2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution"Beauty may be in the eye of the beholder but I doubt anyone could behold a compact car handsomer than the Mitsubishi Lancer. Having a car like the Lancer Evolution that epitomizes the aspirational goal of a whole new generation in your lineup, well, that sounds to me like a position a lot of other car manufacturers would love to be in."

Mitsubishi Outlander Review

2009 Mitsubishi Outlander"In the still red-hot Canadian compact SUV/CUV segment Mitsubishi has a story to tell and a very good product in the Outlander. If you've thinking about something in this segment, Mitsubishi might not have been in your top picks, but it might just be worth taking a new look at Mitsubishi."

Mitsubishi Eclipse Review

Mitsubishi Eclipse"Either as a coupe or convertible, the 2010 Mitsubishi Eclipse's sleek, aggressive styling turns heads... If you want a car that looks and sounds sexy and powerful-with plenty of straight-line oomph in the V-6 models-then the 2010 Mitsubishi Eclipse might be right for you."

Marty Padgett, "2010 Mitsubishi Eclipse Review" - Thecarconnection.com - September 20, 2009.

Mitsubishi Endeavor Review

2010 Mitsubishi Endeavor"Look at the Endeavor if you are in the market for a mid-sized CUV. Back in 2003, the then new Endeavor beat out heavy hitters like the Nissan Murano, Toyota Highlander and Honda Pilot in an Edmunds comparison test. It won that comparison test not by outright dominating, but by being consistently competent. Though little changed since then, the core features that helped take the top slot in that comparison test are still present today. Edmunds editors noted the Endeavor's well-balanced ride and handling dynamics, a gutsy V6, a roomy, comfortable cabin and solid build quality."

The future looks green!

Tuesday, August 4, 2009

These days, many car-makers want to manufacture the most eco-friendly vehicles possible. If more cars like the Mitsubishi i-MiEV are going to be available to the public, then our future looks very bright (green) indeed.

The i-MiEV (Mitsubishi Innovative Electric Vehicle) is Mitsubishi's foray into the world of pure battery electric vehicles. This small but spacious four-passenger vehicle is powered by proprietary, state-of-the-art lithium-ion batteries created by Lithium Energy Japan, each pack of which is made up of 22 modules. Each module is made up of four cells that can be installed under the vehicle's floor, either vertically or horizontally. These batteries have the ability to be quick-charged in about 30 minutes, getting the vehicle up to 80 percent capacity, or the onboard charger can be used to fully charge the batteries in 12-14 hours (at 110V) or in half that time (at 220V). When fully charged, the i-MiEV has a top speed of an astonishing 82 mph and can travel around 100 miles.

When pitted against the turbocharged, gas-powered i-car, it's clear that the i-MiEV is something special. It sways dramatically less while doing a double lane-change maneuver, and its standing-start acceleration is faster as well. In addition, it emits absolutely no on-road carbon emissions and uses absolutely no fossil fuels, making it one of the cleanest, fastest, and most efficient vehicles on the road.

The i-MiEV is scheduled to be launched in Japan in late 2009, and there is speculation that it may be imported to the U.S. in the future.
