Overview
The 2012 Mazda Mazda3 is a small four-door affordable vehicle with athletic handling. The Mazda3 is available in sedan and hatchback body styles. The four-door Mazda3 sedan comes in i SV, i Sport, i Touring, s Sport, and s Grand Touring trim levels, while the five-door Mazda3 is offered in Sport and Grand Touring trim levels. Redesigned for 2010, the MAZDA3 4-Door and 5-Door provide the versatility young consumers need. For 2011, MAZDA3 receives improved standard safety technology and convenience features.
Powertrain and Performance
The 2012 Mazda3 five-door model and four-door s Sport and s Grand Touring trims are powered by a standard 167-horsepower 2.5-liter DOHC 16-valve four-cylinder engine with variable valve timing. The engine is teamed with a standard six-speed manual transmission. The i SV, i Sport and i Touring trims of the four-door Mazda3 get a standard 148-horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a five-speed manual transmission.
Build and Styling
All trims of the 2012 Mazda Mazda3 four-door come with standard halogen headlights, while the upper s Grand Touring and Mazda3 five-door get halogen fog lights as well. The upscale Grand Touring and s Grand Touring carry adaptive front-lighting system; self-leveling bi-xenon HID headlights, and Nagare-inspired illuminated headlight details. The 2012 Mazda Mazda3 four-door also boasts of features such as two-speed windshield wipers with variable intermittent feature; rear fixed intermittent wiper; dual power outside mirrors with side marker turn-signal lights; rear spoiler; and dual exhaust outlets with chrome tips.
