Hyundai Hope on Wheels Tour

Sunday, July 26, 2009

"In June 2009, Rick Case Hyundai was very privileged to partner with the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta in order to take part in the 2009 Hyundai Hope on Wheels Tour! All across the nation, Hyundai dealerships have come together for this Tour in order to help spread the word about pediatric cancer and commemorate all the children fighting the illness.

During the Hope on Wheels Tour, a white Hyundai Santa Fe crossover vehicle travels across the United States to children's hospitals and collects brilliantly colored handprints from past and present pediatric cancer patients who attend each city's handprint ceremony. This Santa Fe represents all the hopes and triumphs of these brave, young children and stands as a testament to other patients and their families that cancer is absolutely beatable and that hope can help conquer all. At the end of the Tour, the Santa Fe will be sold and all the money will be donated to charity.

The Children's Healthcare of Atlanta was one of the first stops during the 2009 Tour. Sammy from California, the National Youth Ambassador for the Tour, was in attendance, along with Tom Pacini General Manager of Rick Case Hyundai, Kevin Kim and David Mull District Manager's for Hyundai Motor America. At this handprint ceremony, all of the metro Atlanta Hyundai dealers presented Hope on Wheels with a check for $35,000 they had raised to benefit the Tour. Several children also got to add their colorful handprints to the Santa Fe. All in all, it was a moving but fun day for all who took part in the ceremony.
