Mitsubishi's First Electric Car on American Roads by 2012
Wednesday, October 21, 2009
Mitsubishi, known for sporty cars and SUVs, is all set to go green. The legendary automaker plans to introduce eco-friendly vehicles and intends to take it up as a priority in future. Rick Case Mitsubishi has learned that Mitsubishi's first environmentally-friendly vehicle Mitsubishi (i MiEV, or Mitsubishi innovative Electric Vehicle) is slated to be released in America by 2012.
The i MiEV stands apart from other EVs in many ways. It is an original little jellybean like all-electric two-seater that derives power from a 63-horsepower engine to deliver a 100-mile mileage (and zero emissions). This small wonder which is already on roads in Japan since last year has generated a lot of interest garnering unprecedented driver satisfaction.
The early success of the iMiEV has encouraged Mitsubishi to come up with two concept variants. The first is the Mitsubishi i MiEV Cargo. True to its name, every inch of the space available in the rear cube-shaped luggage compartment of the Cargo can be utilized. The other one is the roomy Mitsubishi PX-MiEV crossover SUV promising a 30-mile range mileage with all green features like a UV-A reflective glass, anti-allergen seat upholstery, oxygen enricher, heat reflective technology and individual air conditioners. Safety is a priority on the CUV concept, with features such as exterior perimeter cameras. For details see or contact Rick Case Mitsubishi.
